Forced wipe

Every Rust server wipes when Facepunch ships the monthly update: the first Thursday of each month at 19:00 UK time.

The November wipe. Thursday 5 November 2026, 19:00 GMT.

The countdown and your own time zone need JavaScript.

What a forced wipe is

A wipe resets a Rust server: the map is generated afresh, and every base, deployable and item in the world is gone. A forced wipe is the one every server has to take. It comes with the monthly update, because the new version of the game needs a new map, on official, community and modded servers alike.

When it happens

Facepunch ships the monthly update on the first Thursday of each month at 19:00 UK time. From November to March the UK is on GMT, so that is 19:00 UTC; from April to October it is on BST, and the update lands at 18:00 UTC. The countdown works the time out from the UK's clock, so it stays right as the clocks change, and shows it in your own time zone.

Servers come back over the following hour or so, as each one installs the update and starts on its new map.

Blueprints

A forced wipe always resets the map. Whether it also resets the blueprints players have learned is Facepunch's call, and it is announced with the update, in the notes on the devblog. Servers can also reset blueprints on a schedule of their own.

Server wipes

Many servers wipe more often than once a month: every week, every two weeks, or on whatever schedule the people running them choose. Those extra wipes are set by each server and listed on its own page or Discord. This countdown is only for the forced wipe that every server takes.
