Hanwha Life Esports vs Top Esports: 2:00 PM ET on October 23

Hanwha Life Esports vs Top Esports is the second best-of-one of Worlds 2026 Swiss Round 1, slotted for 2:00 PM ET (1:00 PM CDT) on Friday, October 23. The MSI champion against China's third seed.

Hanwha Life vs Top Esports: 2:00 PM ET on Friday, October 23, which is 1:00 PM CDT in Allen, Texas and 18:00 UTC. A best-of-one, Swiss Round 1, match 2 of 8.

Hanwha Life Esports play Top Esports at 2:00 PM ET (1:00 PM CDT) on Friday, October 23, the second best-of-one of Worlds 2026 Swiss Round 1, in Allen, Texas.

Those are Eastern and Central times. New York stays on daylight time until November 1, so ET here means EDT, UTC−4. The slot is 18:00 UTC.

A slot, not a fixed start

Only the opener, Gen.G vs Invictus Gaming at 1:00 PM ET, has a published broadcast start. This match sits in the hourly slot after it, so a long first game pushes it back, and Riot's ruleset lets officials reorder matches within a day. Some previews list Round 1 in draw order rather than playing order; the time here is from the official schedule.

How they got here

  • Hanwha Life Esports won MSI 2026, beating Bilibili Gaming 3–2 in the final on July 12, and qualified for Worlds as MSI champion. In the LCK playoffs they beat T1 3–1 in the lower final on September 12, then lost the final 1–3 to Gen.G on September 13. They're Korea's second seed. Because they also finished in the LCK's top three, the LCK's fourth slot passed to Dplus KIA.
  • Top Esports came through the LPL Regional Qualifier, beating Invictus Gaming 3–1 on September 17 for China's third seed.

HLE were in draw Tier 2 and TES in Tier 3. It's the second Korea–China match of the day.

What's at stake

Less than it looks. Three match wins advance a team to the Knockout Stage and three losses eliminate it, so the loser drops to 0–1 with at least two more matches to play. Rounds 1 and 2 are best-of-ones; any match that can send a team through or knock it out is a best-of-three. Round 2 is drawn after Friday's last game, pairing same-record teams at random with no rematches, and starts Saturday at 1:00 PM ET.

HLE arrive as the reigning MSI champions and TES as China's third seed. In a best-of-one, all of that comes down to one draft and one game.

Where to watch

At 1:00 PM ET: Gen.G vs Invictus Gaming. At 3:00 PM ET: Bilibili Gaming vs Movistar KOI. The whole day is in Worlds Swiss day 1 in Eastern Time.
