Patch 26.21: Jinx and Lee Sin nerfed, Sion buffed

Two dozen champions change in Patch 26.21. Jinx, Lee Sin and Viktor come down, Sion, Darius and Nunu go up, and with the Worlds patch locked, Azir, Orianna and Ryze finally get their buffs.

Jinx and Lee Sin tagged Nerfed, and Darius and Sion tagged Buffed, over Sion’s splash art.

Patch 26.21 went live on October 21. Riot calls it "pretty chunky": two dozen champions on Summoner's Rift change, and Gluttonous Greaves and Hubris come down for ranged champions. Worlds is played on Patch 26.20, so none of this reaches the pros this year. That's also why Riot felt free to buff three champions it had held back.

Nerfs

  • Jinx. Attack damage per level 3.25 → 3, and base health 630 → 610.
  • Lee Sin. W cooldown 7s → 8s. R kick damage 175 / 400 / 625 → 150 / 350 / 550, and the collision damage drops by the same amounts.
  • Viktor. Base move speed 335 → 330, and his Q shield 40–140 (+25% AP) → 30–130 (+20% AP).
  • Qiyana. Q damage 80–200 → 70–190, a partial revert of her 26.17 buff.
  • Rammus. W bonus armor 27–47 → 25–45, and the scaling on his armor and magic resist 30–60% → 30–50%.
  • Nidalee. Pounce damage 55–190 → 50–170, and Primal Surge attack speed 30–70% → 20–60%.
  • Tristana. Rapid Fire attack speed 60–120% → 40–120%, so the cut is all at the early ranks.
  • Yone. Q ratio 110% AD → 105% AD.

Buffs

  • Sion. Health per level 87 → 95, and his ultimate's damage now ramps up to +200% over its first three seconds.
  • Darius. Q cooldown at max rank 5s → 4s.
  • Nunu & Willump. Absolute Zero's maximum damage 625 / 925 / 1275 → 750 / 1100 / 1450.
  • Miss Fortune. Make It Rain 70–190 → 90–210, and Bullet Time crit damage 130% → 145%.
  • Taliyah. Unraveled Earth 60–240 (+60% AP) → 70–250 (+70% AP), and it now deals 225% damage to monsters.
  • Vel'Koz. Passive damage 35–180 (+60% AP) → 35–205 (+65% AP).
  • Xin Zhao. Q ratio 40% → 45% bonus AD.
  • Zyra. Seed recharge 18–10s → 16–10s.
  • Wukong. Base health regen 3.5 → 5.5, though his passive armor per stack drops from 6–10 to 4.5–10.

The ones Worlds was waiting on

Riot says it held back on Azir, Orianna and Ryze until the Worlds patch was locked. Now it isn't waiting:

  • Azir: mana per level 40 → 50.
  • Orianna: Q ratio 55% → 60% AP, and W 80% → 85% AP.
  • Ryze: Overload's Flux bonus 15 / 40 / 65 / 90% → 10 / 40 / 70 / 100%, Q move speed up at every rank, and Rune Prison's ratio 60% → 70% AP.

Changed, not simply nerfed

  • Caitlyn. Her headshots hit for less, 60–100% AD → 60–80% AD, with smaller crit scaling. Her Q hits harder, though: 50–210 → 50–230. Power moves out of crit builds and into her poke.
  • Varus. His Q now ramps further over its channel, up to 70% from 50%, and his W on-hit and stacks are retuned around it.
  • Locke. Mana costs go up and the refund on unused Q charges is reworked, while his E blink hits harder.

Items

  • Gluttonous Greaves: 1000 → 1100 gold.
  • Hubris: base bonus AD 12 → 15 for melee and 10 for ranged, and 3 per stack for melee, 2 for ranged.
  • Bastionbreaker: lethality 22 → 18, and its charge damage is lower, but Sabotage now lasts indefinitely instead of 90 seconds.
  • Dawncore: ability power per 100% base mana regen 10 → 15.

Off the Rift

  • Replays: downloads are now capped at 10 an hour, to stop large-scale scraping. You can still download your own games and other players'.
  • Skins: the True Damage "Know My Name" skins for Ekko (Prestige), Akali, Qiyana, Senna and Yasuo were released on October 21.
  • ARAM: Mayhem: a new season, "Journey to Stardom", with a band-themed Headliner twisting the rules of each game.
  • Classic: Mordekaiser, Yorick, Hecarim and Lucian return. The mode ends its run in January, and our League Classic post has the details.

You can ask Lolumen in Claude what changed for any champion in a patch. It reads Riot's game data for each patch. Here's how to add it.
