Cards, formats and bans
Searching the library, Standard and Wild, and how bans are shown.
The Card library holds every collectible Hearthstone card. Search names and card text, then narrow by class, mana cost, type, rarity, tribe or spell school, and expansion. Every filter is kept in the page's address, so you can share a filtered view.
Standard and Wild
The switch at the top of the library chooses the format. Wild, the default, shows every card, since every card can be played in Wild unless it's banned. Standard shows only the cards in this year's Standard sets, and its expansion menu lists only those sets.
The Standard sets for Year of the Scarab:
- Core, always in Standard
- Event, always in Standard
- Into the Emerald Dream (2025)
- The Lost City of Un'Goro (2025)
- Across the Timeways (2025)
- Cataclysm (2026)
- Escape from the Violet Hold (2026)
- Reign of the Black Empire (2026)
With the first expansion of 2027, usually in March. The 2025 expansions rotate out then.
A card can have several printings. A card that's back in the Core set is in Standard even though its first printing isn't.
Bans
A banned card is dimmed in the library and tagged Banned in the format it's banned from. Its own page says since when, and links to the announcement. Banned right now:
- Bat Mask: temporarily banned in Standard since Oct 21, 2026
- Divergence: temporarily banned in Standard since Oct 21, 2026
- Reach Equilibrium: temporarily banned in Standard since Oct 21, 2026
- Reincarnate: temporarily banned in Wild since Oct 21, 2026
A card's page
Each card's page shows the card, its text and flavor, its class, type, rarity, cost and stats, its tribe or spell school, its expansion and year, what it costs to craft, its artist, where it can be played, and its other printings. Signed in, you can save cards to your profile.
